The Garage At Helium: Lawrence Killebrew
Growing up in Philadelphia, being a comic was one of the last things on the mind of Lawrence Killebrew. Watching others enjoy themselves by engaging in different forms of entertainment always struck a chord with Lawrence. Lawrence eventually found his niche in the art of entertainment by offering his audience the therapy of laughter. The road of comedy he’s taken has had its bumps and bruises along with its triumphs. From getting booed off the stage to getting standing ovations, Lawrence has learned to remain humble and continuously work on his craft. Killebrew first burst onto the comedy scene in November of 2004, at the Rascals Comedy Club in Cherry Hill, NJ. At the age of 23, Lawrence began performing at comedy franchises such as the Laff Factory, Improv, and Rascals comedy clubs located all over the United states, along with entertaining the younger generation of viewers at colleges and universities along the east coast. Since then, he has continued his journey from an amateur open mic performer, to an up-and-coming comic and has become a well-known and respected comedian. Over the course of Lawrence’s career he has toured and opened for a number of comedians, such as Katt Williams, Kevin Hart, and Bill Burr. He has hosted his own comedy show, “Tickle Me Tuesday”, since 2007 and just celebrated its three year anniversary. In early 2010, Killebrew went on tour in Seoul, Korea, along with other comedians, to perform for the troops. In addition to comedy, this chameleon is also a guest jockey on Radio One’s 100.3 The Beat on “Philly Home Jamz” on Sunday nights. After successfully surpassing all expectations at Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza Comedy Festival in their “New Faces” competition, Lawrence is willing and ready to set his sites on new opportunities and larger projects in order to advance his career in the world of comedy. Lawrence is eager to perform, capable of capturing an audience, and known for his outstanding performances which make the people always want more!

Special Event: Ginger Billy
Shirtless and tattooed, Ginger Billy gives viewers a humorous look into life in rural Upstate South Carolina. And he’s doing it all on his own.
He lives between Union and Lockhart, South Carolina, with his wife and family. For years, he says, he was a respiratory therapist. But one day, after the retirement of Dale Earnhart, Jr., he thought maybe he’d make a video.
After that, it was the men’s romper craze, so he went to JCPenney’s and bought the biggest girls’ romper he could find and did a video about that. The video has almost 840,000 views on YouTube alone. He estimates it got between 40 and 50 million views across all social media channels. From there things just took off.
The next thing he knew he was doing stand-up. A manager signed him on and got him a gig at a casino.
After that, he started touring with Catfish Cooley and others. It was a whole new world, he said.
The only thing he won’t talk about, he says, is politics. The goal is to give people a place to breathe for a while.

Buy TicketsSpecial Event: Majah Hype
Passions for building communities and creating strong representations of Caribbean descendants in mainstream culture are what give comedian Majah Hype his secret sauce. Beginning in 2012, the raspy-voiced funnyman known to his adoring fans as “the Caribbean King of Comedy” took social media by storm with his brand of humor he calls “reality comedy:” producing and starring in sketches online featuring impersonations of characters that poke fun at various stereotypes associated with Caribbean, Latin and African-American cultures. As a stand-up comedian, Majah improvises his routines: delivering unscripted punchlines around everyday experiences that connect Afro-Caribbean people.
Frequently coming up with new characters, Majah produces about six or seven videos per day. He blazed both domestic and international stages with his prideful brand of wit: becoming a familiar face spanning Trinidad, Tobago, Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, Japan, Europe, Canada, South America and the Bahamas. Majah primarily headlines his own performances but has been honored to share stages with comedic talents such as Jason Anders, Michael Blackson, John Witherspoon, Paul Mooney, Cedric the Entertainer, Tony Woods, Brandon T. Jackson, Marlon Wayans and Affion Crockett.
As his following continues to expand, Majah’s objective is to remain an ambassador for his Caribbean heritage. Majah performs an annual stand-up show at the King’s Theater every Labor Day in his hometown, Brooklyn. He launched his own production company, Hype Media and Films, in 2014. Two years later, the ambitious jokester wrote, starred in and directed an independent comedy, “Foreign Minds Think Alike,” where he also portrayed five characters on-screen. This year, Majah plans to launch his own nonprofit organization, Hearts of Comedy for Majah Hype.

Buy TicketsSpecial Event: George Wallace
By the age of six, George Wallace knew he wanted to be a comedian. He always enjoyed making people laugh, but he also knew the importance of an education. He attended the University of Akron, Ohio, and upon graduating with degrees in Transportation, Marketing/Advertising, plus advanced studies in Radio and Television from Columbia School of Broadcasting. Literally, a rags-to-riches story, Wallace went from selling rags to VP of Advertising. Still, his dream of being a comedian had a strong hold on him. Within a week of leaving the advertising field, he began to perform stand-up comedy and was offered a job writing for “The Redd Foxx Show.”
Wallace is currently pursuing dual coursework at the University of Phoenix and DeVry. With his writing and stand-up experience, Wallace began landing television appearances.
Wallace was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Soul Train/Centric Comedy All-Star Awards; and won Best Stand-Up Comedian at the prestigious American Comedy Awards after four consecutive nominations. As a veteran radio personality, he has also made appearances on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” and is a charter member of “The Tom Joyner Morning Show.” In 2004 Wallace appeared as the headlining star of his own show at The Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas for a 30-day run. Sin City showed its admiration by extending Wallace’s contract indefinitely and nicknaming him “The New Mr. Vegas.” Unlike any other comedy show in Las Vegas, Wallace gave away a number of prizes every night including CDs, DVDs, diamond necklaces, dinner at prestigious restaurants, gourmet chocolates, tropical cruises, and even a new car. He celebrated his 10th Anniversary headlining at the Flamingo in March 2014, and announced he was closing the show to head back out on the road.
Wallace regularly performs in comedy clubs across the country and is an ambassador for the United States government, performing at military bases all over the world.
His first book, "LAFF IT OFF" (Chaite Press) was published in 2014. A tome of life wisdom, humor and insight from a lifetime of observation, the book is in its third printing.
Wallace’s most recognized material is his “I Be Thinkin’” lines and jokes about everything from conversational thoughts to political aspirations. Each show he engages members of the audience in comical banter. If provoked, he might even throw out a few of his signature “Yo Mama” jokes. He shows his gratitude to the audience by signing autographs and taking photos after every show.
